Baleigh Simmons

Baleigh Simmons grew up in the Houston area and moved to Austin for high school. She began dancing at the age of three at Boni’s Dance & Performing Arts Studio in The Woodlands, Tx. She was a competitive team member at Dance Dynamics, The Woodlands Dance Force, and the Victoria Strutters. She attended Westwood High School and was a member of the Sundancers for three years. She served as Jr. and Sr. Lieutenant and graduated in 2016.

 

Mrs. Simmons attended Kilgore College from 2016-2018 and was a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. As a Rangerette, she was granted many incredible performance opportunities including, the Cotton Bowl Classic, the State Fair of Texas, an NFL halftime show, the 90th anniversary of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 75th Pearl Harbor Commemoration, the Contest of Champions at Walt Disney World, and the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland. While a member of the Rangerettes she had the privilege of serving as Right End Lieutenant, Head Swingster, Kilgore College Dance Club President, and was a member of the Pre-Professional Modern Dance Company, Industry. After attending Kilgore College she transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University where she was a member and captain of the National Champion SFA Dance Team. She graduated from SFA with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Performance and Choreography.

 

After graduation, Mrs. Simmons began her teaching career at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, TX, and was Assistant Director of the Hendrickson Silver Dancers for 2 years. Mrs. Simmons is very excited to join the McNeil Dance family! She is so humbled to serve your dancers and the community. She is looking forward to learning, growing, making memories and having fun with her dance students and Majestics!

Assistant Director

Jasmine Matthews

Jasmine Matthews was born and raised in Manor, TX. She has been dancing since she was 5 years old. She was a member of the Manor High School High-Steppers drill team and served as a Social Officer her Junior year and Captain her Senior year.

 

Ms. Matthews attended Texas State University where she earned her BFA in Dance Education. While in college, Ms. Matthews had the opportunity to be a member of the Dance Company “CIM TEYA”. Ms. Matthews had the honor to travel to teach and perform in the COCO Dance Festival in Trinidad and Tobago. She also performed in numerous shows at Texas State throughout her years at the university.

 

Ms. Matthews has been teaching dance for 5 years in schools and studios across Texas. This is her third year teaching at McNeil High School and is so excited and cannot wait to see what the year holds for everyone.
